Welcome to MyJLStory
This is MyJLStory, part golf blog, part food blog, and part journal of the lessons that shaped me. From my years grinding on the mini-tours, to the kitchens where I learned to cook, to the golf clubs and businesses I’ve managed along the way, these stories capture where I’ve been and what I’ve learned.
Golf, food, and life might seem like different worlds, but for me they’re all connected. Golf taught me patience, awareness, and persistence. Cooking taught me rhythm, creativity, and memory. Leadership taught me to listen, build systems, and help others thrive.
This blog is personal. It’s not just about swing tips, recipes, or management tactics. It’s about the journey behind them, and what each moment has to teach.
Improvement starts with awareness. That’s true on the course, in the kitchen, and in life.
This blog started as a gift to my children — but I hope the lessons here speak to you too.

FAQs
📘 What is MyJLStory?
MyJLStory is a personal blog built for my kids — Jou and Leia — and for anyone searching for meaning in golf, food, family, and leadership. It’s my golf blog, my food blog, and my journal of life lessons all in one place. Here, I reflect on experiences, preserve stories, and pass along the things that matter.
👨👧👦 What does “JL” stand for?
Jou and Leia — my kids, my pride, and the heartbeat of this blog. Everything here is written with them in mind.
⛳ Are you a golf blog? A food blog? A parenting blog?
Yes… and no. MyJLStory is a Golf Blog, a Food Blog, and a Parenting Blog — but not in the typical “tips and hacks” way. Instead, it’s about how life shows up in golf, food, and family, and what we learn from those moments along the way.
🧑🍳 Are the recipes original?
Many are — especially the ones I use at home and at Sugarbush Golf Club. I was trained at Le Cordon Bleu and have experience with both classic and East Asian cooking. I’ll also share stories behind the dishes.
📖 Can I subscribe or follow new posts?
